A neutron beam simulation study is carried out to determine the most suitable neutronenergy for treatment of shallow and deep-seated brain tumors in the context of Boron NeutronCapture Therapy (BNCT). Two figures-of-merit, the therapeutic gain and the neutron fluence areutilized as beam assessment parameters. An irradiation cavity is used instead of a parallel beamport for the therapy. Calculations are performed using the MCNP5 code. After the optimizationof our beam-shaper a study of the dose distribution in the head, neck, tyroids, lungs and upperand middle spine had been made. The therapeutic gain is increased while the current required forone hour treatment is decreased in comparison with the trading prototypes of NG used for BNCT.
