Remote control of manufacturing systems - a collaborative course between engineering schools

The goal of the project described in the paper is to create new, interactive tools and pedagogical methodologies in order to initiate the engineering students to the "cooperative" work and to teach them the necessary means (tools, methodologies). The application field concerns the development and implementation of a remote control of manufacturing Systems, ranging from the automatic control to the production management. The objectives of a "shared remote control" are outlined first. Then the application to the remote control of a programmable logic controller — PLC is described.
