Portable instrumentation is designed and applied on verification of modal parameters and selected aerodynamic design parameters of cable-stayed bridges by ambient vibration technique. The measurements were conducted under variable wind speeds on the bridge sites. Data acquisition periods were short, of order few hours, but found capable for the purpose. The two bridges studied were the Raippaluoto Bridge and the Kaerkinen Bridge, spanwidths 250 m and 240 m, respectively. The experiments suggest promising applicability of the approach, although vibration amplitudes were only few millimetres.
