Reduction in electricity consumption in office building by energy saving of office equipment

Indoor heat generation in office buildings is increasing as office equipment comes into wide use recently. It is making the situation that they need cooling even in winter. Reduction in electricity consumption of office equipment is an important issue not only for decreasing energy consumption for cooling but also for producing a good thermal environment in workplace. The paper describes measurement results of energy saving possibility by smart use of office equipment and introducing high efficient office equipment. Then it shows simulated influences of energy saving of office equipment on total energy consumption in a model office building.
