In this paper, special attention has been paid to the TDC utilizing integrated delay lines for digital conversion of time-interval (TI), including the methods of calibration with phase-locked loop circuits. The interpolation methods are used when both a long measuring range (MR) and a high resolution are required. The interpolator in the TDC was realized by utilizing the tapped delay lines. So the long MR is provided by the coarse counter driven by the reference clock, while the high resolution is obtained by the fine interpolators. Application design of TDC-GP1 which was used in pulsed semiconductor laser rangefinder (SLRF) was also introduced.
