摘要

The study of the stability of shallow tunnels driven in soft soils has been increasing in the past few decades. Actually, as tunneling is carried under severe conditions, the study of the stability of the tunnel takes a major role in the design of such kind of underground structures. This paper deals with the study of the stability of the ground surrounding the tunnel, not with the stability of the tunnel itself. The tunnel's stability is normally studied within the framework of limit analysis or limit equilibrium, as well by methods of physical experimentation. In this paper, some elastic-plastic calculations are performed, and its results, as well as some results from the limit analysis theory, are compared with the results of centrifugal experiments.
