Recent announcements by China's government officials have stated that China is seeking more foreign investment in mineral exploration and mineral exploitation leading to the development of new value added products. It was also announced this month that China will adopt additional preferential policies to encourage foreign investment. Foreign investors will be encouraged to co-operate with large and medium-size state-owned mining enterprises. Their applications for mining rights will receive priority, and they will be allowed to see prospecting and mining rights, according to the Oct. 13 Xinhua News Agency Statement from Shou Jiahua, China's Vice minister of Land and Resources.
