Innovation and advancement in computer technologies have lead to advancements in the wav draw dies are designed and built over the last 40 years. It is now possible to design cars in less time with more complex shapes, better surface quality and better finish. This paper reviews some of the past advances in computer technology and their impact on draw die development, and the future impact of advances in computer technology. Specifically, the appearance of very low cost computers and networks that can be combined into parallel processors will provide opportunities to improve the process of draw die development.
