Wet pressing in the 20th century - evolution, understanding and future

摘要

This paper is an overview of wet pressing technology in the 20th century. Our understanding of the pressing theory is discussed with special emphasis on new knowledge and controversial areas such as flow out of the fiber wall, rewettign and uniformity of pressure application. Finally thoughts about the future are presented, such as what comes after no-draw double felted shoe press designs and what will become of impulse drying, etc.
