Client compliance is our new buzzword. What exactly does that mean? Some see it as being the "recommendation police," forcing clients to accept care that they do not really want to accept While it is true that compliance will often not be 100% on anygiven recommendations for care, striving for continuous quality improvement in each area will improve the level of care delivered to your patients over time. The 2003 AAHA Compliance Study, titled "The Path to High Quality Care: Practical Tips for Improving Compliance" indicates that once clients receive a treatment recommendation, they often fail to follow through due to lack of conviction in the initial recommendation, failure of the veterinarian and staff to note all recommendations in the chart (both accepted and declined), and a lack of reinforcement by support staff and failure to send reminders We can take each one of those failures and examine how technology can help us succeed in the future.
