Development of New Dry Tube Cable with Water Blocking Laminated Tape

We have designed and developed the new dry tube cable with the specially designed water blocking laminated tape. This cable makes mid span access easily, then the networks for distributed customers can be constructed economically. In case of aerial application, this cable can be adapted for the self-supporting structure with cable slack. We have manufactured several prototype cables composing 250micron coated fibers, 2-fiber ribbons, 4-fiber ribbons, 8-fiber ribbons and 16-fiber ribbons, and have evaluated its cable performance. The fiber counts composed in these cables are from 2 to 80 fibers. All cables shows good transmission characteristics and easy mid span access operations.
