摘要

Research to date has characterised the neoplastic condition that is known as Devil Facial Tumour Disease and given project staff a much greater understanding of the nature of the host. This work continues and through an expanding collaborative research effort there is some hope for the iconic Tasmanian devil. In the mean time the neoplastic clone continues to spread though the population, and without the additional presence of active disease control by removal of affected animals and the isolation ofdisease free animals, the Tasmanian devil may still be vulnerable.
