摘要

Thiocolchicoside, a semisynthetic derivative of the naturally occurring colchicine, is an agonist for the GABA receptors in the central nervous system and it is also an inhibitor of local mediators~1. For this reason, the major therapeutical application of thiocochiciside is in orthopedic, traumatic and rheumatological disorders, due to its central muscle relaxant activity and its analgesic and local anesthetic effect.
