Pinning properties in superconducting Pb-Bi alloys (II)

The critical current is largely influenced by thermally activated flux creep at high temperature owing to their weak pinning strength. It is difficult to control the pinning strength in high-temperature oxide superconductors. The pinning strengths of the superconducting Pb-Bi alloys can be controlled easily by varying the Bi content. In order to investigate that effect of reversible motion of fluxoids, the AC susceptibility was measured for Pb-Bi alloys. The apparent pinning potentials and AC susceptibilities are systematically investigated for Pb-Bi alloys with different pinning strengths.
