Raman evidence for differences in heme vinyl orientation in cytochromes P-450

Cytochromes P-450 CYP102 A1 (BM3 from Bacillus megaterium), human recombinant 1A2 and 3A4, all belonging to class II type of P450 enzymes were studied by resonance Raman spectroscopy with Soret excitation. Spectra were measured for the oxidized substrate-free, oxidized substrate-bound and reduced forms of each of these P450s.
