In pork production systems it is valuable to have a pig health measurement process in place to understand the dynamics of the population immune response following natural exposure to PRRS virus and/or vaccination. It is important for herd managers andveterinary advisors to be in a position to distinguish between an immune response due to a known exposure, such as vaccination, or to an unplanned exposure due to field virus circulation. Th purpose of this paper is to describe the expected antibody development, peak and decay pattern following an active immunization procedure with a new commercial MLV PRRS vaccine Ingelvac~(R) PRRS ATP.
