Adue diligence investigation of an industrial mineral asset may be requested for multiple reasons. Some examples are that a buyer will require it before taking title, or a lender will require it before providing financing. There are also different levels of due diligence. It could be a due diligence investigation of an operation covering all aspects (i.e., reserves, mine, process plant, environmental, markets/sales, financial, etc.), or one that focuses on a single issue (i.e., reserves). Due diligence investigations of industrial mineral assets are conducted in order to identify risks (failure and impact) and assess the facts and factors related to thos risks. The due diligence investigation provides competent backup data for a business decision, and must be completed before upper managemetn makes a commitment.
