Increasing Internet piracy is already producing a billion dollar loss in revenues per year sto the music indistry. As Internet bandwidth increases, the dynamics of the process is disturbing; for example, Napster's music download web site has experienced a nearly six-fold traffic increase in the second quarter of 2000.
