Pacific Iron and Steel is in the investment study phase of the BC Iron & Steelworks project and has assembled an impressive team to accomplish this task. Pacific Iron & Steel has carefully weighed the origination of any loyalties that would impede its flexibility in site selection, iron ore feed, reductant type and source, fuel supply, and iron and steelmaking technology to truly select the best combination of materials and technologies to insure the lowest capital and operating costs, and to assure the long term success of the BC Iron & SteelWorks. The target is to have the first slab produced by the end of next year and to demonstrate the inherent low cost production possibilities of the chosen process route and the ideal location of Ridley Island for this endeavor.
