The placenta as a reservoir of congenital human cytomegalovirus infection in fetal mice

Objective To study the development of Human Cytomegalovirus Ad169(HCMV Ad169) infection in the placenta of ICR mice and to assess its role in determining the outcome of fetal congenital Human Cytomegalovirus infection. Mehtods HCMV(5.0 log TCID_50 in 1.0ml/mouse) was injected into the each inttraperitoneum of female mice in pre-mating and on day 3, 7, 14 of gestation when they were about 10 weeks old.
