The solubilization of moderately polar benzyl alcohol in CTAB (cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide) aqueous or KBr salt micelles and of acrylamide (AM) in CTAB reversed microemulsion (W/O) have been investigated by high resolution nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). The results indicate that benzyl alcohol in CTAB aqueous or KBr alt micelles is adsorbed on the micelle - water interface at a low concentration, with hte increasing of solubilized concentration, it is preferential solubilized both in the palisade and in centre of the micelle core. The single signal of the methylene chain is not clear. In CTAB reversed microemulsion (W/O) acrylamide is solubilized in the stern layer of microemulsion at low AM concentration, but when the mole ratio of acrylamide to CTAB approaches 0.75 acrylamide is solubilized in palisade layer and distributed along the hydrocarbon chain of CTAB.
