Revolutions in communication-media have produced advances in civilization since the invention of characters (writing) in ancient time as shown in Fig.1. The media changed dramatically from one only for specific people in the agricultural civilization age to mass-media for the general population with the spread of printing in Renaissance age, which led to the industrial civilization. The present age, which is the second stage of the industrial civilization, resulted from the invention of radio-wave media at the end of the 19th century. The invention of a CRT display at almost the same time also played an important role in building the prosperity of the 20th century industrial civilization through television broadcasting, which promoted the great progress of information currency.
