Local nature of transport properties of Ag-sheathed BSCCO (Bi-2223) superconducting tapes

The results of the study of local transport properties i.e. current voltage characteristics as well as ac losses at 77K and zero external field for Ag-sheathed multifilamentary BSCCO (Bi - 2223) superconducting tapes are presented. The Ag-sheathed tapes prepared by a standard powder-in-tube technique were used. The results for two different types of samples are compared. The emphasize is given to manifestation of the observed effect in real scale application in high T{sub}c windings of coils and transformers.
