ROBUST ADAPTIVE FUZZY CONTROL FOR A CLASS OF UNCERTAIN NONLINEAR SYSTEMS

The stabilization of a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with the complicated formulation and unknown bound of system function and gain uncertain function is investigated in this paper. A fuzzy system is employed to approximate the complicated formulation function, then the fuzzy system is used as the upper bound of uncertainty in the system. Hence a robust adaptive fuzzy control (RAFC) scheme is proposed to guarantee the closed-loop system to converge exponentially with a prescribed degree of accuracy towards a residual ball around the equilibrium. To illustrate the proposed method, we demonstrate how this method can be used to design fin control systems for ship roll stabilization.The simulation results show that the designed control systems can guarantee the performance of robustness with respect to the distubances and uncertainties.
