摘要

The strategic decision of building a new integratedSteel Plant in Brazil was taken in order to be able toparticipate in the segment of high quality steelgrowing world-wide. The planning and concept of anew power plant in the frame of this ambitiousproject was introduced. The influence of basicconditions of an integrated steel plant on the powerplant requires custom solutions and a plant conceptwith topmost flexibility. The location and design hada big influence on the economic viability of theentire steel complex. The technical peculiarities ofthe chosen solution, a combined cycle plant burninglow calorific fuel coming from the blast furnaceprocess, are herewith presented.
