The effect of barium iodide on the vapor-liquid equilibrium of the ethanol-2-propanol system at three constant salt molalities (0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 mol centre dot kg~-1) under isothermal conditions at 40.3, 55.3 and 70.6 deg C are investigated with the help of headspace gas chromatography. A considerable decrease of the ethanol mole fractin in the vapor phase can be observed by the addition of barium iodide. The experimental dat awere correlated by four electrolyte models: the electrolyte NRTL model of Mock, et al. (1986), the extended UNIQUAC model (Macedo et al. 1990), the electrolyte UNIFAC model (Kikic et al. 1991), and LIQUAC model (Li et al. 1994).
