摘要

A simple and convenient numerical method for the prediction of the motions of fast displacement vessels is presented. It is based on the so called 2-1/2D theory where the free-surface condition is 3D but the control equation and body surface condition are 2D. The transient free-surface Green function is used to formulate the integral equation on the body surface. Numerical predictions are compared with the experiment results of a mono-and a twin-hull NPL ships, as well as the theoretical results by strip method. It is found that the present method can give satisfied predictions of the motion response characteristic for both mono- and twin-hull at high forward speed. The strip method can not give rational motion predictions for twin-hull high-speed vessels.
