摘要

This report, presented in three volumes, contains the methodology and associated computer programs for the prediction of damage to the striking and struck ships involved in a collision. The upper and lower bound principles of the collapse theorems are used to obtain approximate, but reliable, predictions of the penetration of the struck ship and the crushed length of the striking bow. The methodology can also be applied to the analysis of actual collisions from a detailed examination of actual collision damage. Vol. II is a presentation of the mathematical models.
