PROVISIONS OF THE CANADIAN STANDARD FOR THE DESIGN OF FRP REINFORCED CONCRETE BUILDING COMPONENTS

This paper describes the salient provisions of the draft Canadian standard, "S806-00 Design and Construction of Building Components with Fibre Reinforced Polymers," with respect to the design of concrete building components internally reinforced with FRP. The standard covers the ultimate load design of members under flexural, shear and axial load. It also deals with serviceability limit state criteria such as deflection and crack control and with bond and development length. The provisions in their current form apply to beams, columns and one-way slabs.
