Craig Bobrowiecki (Connecticut Department of Energy and Environment, Hartford, CT) Background/Objectives. The Pharmacia & Upjohn Company LLC site (the Site) located in North Haven, CT is a 78-acre former chemical manufacturing site that ceased operations in 1993. In 2003, Pfizer Inc acquired the Pharmacia Corporation and became responsible for the Site. Pfizer’s goal was to develop a green, sustainable remedy that would not only achieve the remediation goals and requirements for protection of humanhealth and the environment but would also achieve the overall objective of beneficial redevelopment of the Site as an asset to the community both with respect to encouraging some commercial/light industrial development on the west side and providing an ecological asset to the Quinnipiac River region on the east side.
