Combined Abiotic Abiotic Ex-Situ Immobilization of Cyanide and PAH at a Former Gasworks

摘要

At a formermanufactured gas plant in Germany, a simple process using only two abundant, cheap and environmentally benign reagents, i.e., iron sulfate and activated carbon, was implemented to render complex cyanides and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in contaminated soil harmless on site by immobilizing them, thus avoiding excavating and landfilling at higher costs.
