摘要

Dichloromethane (DCM) is a volatile organic compound widely used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries as solvent, among other applications. However, because of its high toxicity and carcinogenicity, this compound has been classified as one of the dangerous gaseous pollutants [1], which requires strict emissions control. The catalytic hydrodechlorination (HDC) is presented as one of the most promising emerging technology for the removal of these compounds. Catalysts based on noble metals (such as platinum) supported on activated carbon have resulted to be active in the HDC of DCM [2]. In this study, we evaluated the activity of platinum catalysts supported on activated carbons (Pt/AC) obtained by chemical activation of lignin, basic constituent of wood and other vegetable matter, using different activating agents (AA) in the gas phase HDC of DCM.
