Nanomedicine is a new field of medicine based on nanotechnology. New materials applied in medical procedures due to the development of nanotechnology contribute to a number of advantages in the scope of medical diagnoses and therapies. Nanomedicine provides new possibilities in the scope of drug or gene targeting, biosensors, cancer therapy (hyperthermia), visualization (quantum dots) and in the scope of implantation materials [1-3]. The application of carbon nanotubes to produce coatings on the surface of metals is a means to obtain materials with unique properties, which can find their use in medical fields. The work deals with the manufacture of coatings built of nanotubes on stainless steel surface. The nanotubes were deposited on the metal surface be means of electrophoretic deposition (EPD). EPD is a well-known colloidal ceramic processing method which is gaining an increasing interest as a simple and versatile technique for the production of coatings and films from carbon nanotubes. This method provides great possibilities concerning control of parameters responsible for the functional properties of the obtained layers. Carbon nanoforms display a unique set of physical, chemical and biological properties, and due to possibilities of their various further modifications become interesting precursor materials in term of medical applications [4-7]. The CNT films received under different conditions of EPD process were characterised using SEM microscopy. Contact angle wettability, nanoindentations measurements and electrochemical examination were made. The study has shown that the electrophoretic deposition (EPD) is very useful method to receive a CNT layer with properties that meet the requirements of medicine.
