摘要

Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) is a positive-sense, tripartice RNA plant virus, with a broad host range and worldwide distribution. RNAs 1 and 2 of CMV are associated with the replication of the viral genome, whereas RNA 3 encodes two in vitro translation products, a 3a protein and a coat protein. The 3a protein is deduced to be involved in the cell-to-cell movement. There are many strains of CMV, which differ in host range and pathogenicity. Differences in various biological and physical properties between such strains have been mapped to specific nucleotides of RNA3.
