CORRELATIVE STUDIES OF ABRASION TEST RESULTS AND FLOOR WEAR DURABILITY USING STATISTICAL METHODS FOR WOOD FLOOR FINISHES

Abrasion testing has not always been a good indicator of actual floor durability with regards to wood floor finishes. To better understand floor finish durability, test floor wear studies were conducted and correlated with several abrasion tests using a variety of wood floor finishes. The statistical data analysis revealed limitations in correlating abrasion testing to floor wear performance. The methods used in this analysis will be discussed and the results analyzed.
