At the present time the dimensioning of the different reduction ratios in a multistage wiredrawing process, is mainly fixed by experience. The Finite Element simulation is a powerful tool to evaluate the whole system. For this reason, a specific subroutine has been written in order to consider the propagating effects of the drawing force relevant to the previous step, and to perform the rezoning of the elements, also taking into account the internal stresses already present inside the wire just after the first drawing step. The calculations have been performed using the FE-Code MARC K.7.2.
