A high level of integration is critical in lowering the cost of electronics for communication systems such as cellular phones, cordless phones, and wireless LANs. A number of recent papers report increasing levels of transceiver integration. RF,baseband analog, and mixed-signal circuits have been integrated [1]. RF, baseband analog, and voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) circuits have been realized on a single die [2].
