摘要

This paper mainly described the calculation method of critical external compressive load for FRP conic shell stiffened with hoop ribs at both ends by use of the linear theory of the smooth cylindrical shell. First, this paper introduced the method how to change the conic shell to the equivalent cylindrical shell on the calculation. Second, discussed the handling method of hoop ribs on the efficiency stiffened. Finally, this paper listed the results of calculation and tests for the conic shell of carbon/epoxy and glass/epoxy, and the results of calculation very close to the testing results. Therefore, the method of calculation provided by this paper was confirmed to has practical value in the engineering.
