Systems & Electronics, Inc. (SEI) has developed a system (Refs. [1] and [2]) that can predict component failure through user-defined regime recognition. The original system was used to determine flight maneuvers from user-defined specifications. The system included an airborne recorder, a ground-based computer and a flight condition code-processing program. The system was unique because the end-user could classify the recorded parameters into whatever categories they chose. This paper presents a modified version of the original system in which the results from the user-defined regimes are used in a model that predicts component failures.
