Developing an Information Literacy Center

In the spring of 1997, the Bern Dibner Library of Science and Technology obtained a three-year grant from the Dibner Fund to establish and maintain an Information Literacy Center (ILC). The mission of the ILC is to enhance the overall learning environment of the University community, by utilizing innovative methods to effectively educate and train faculty, staff and students concerning new technology. Also, ILC will facilitate the University's stated commitment to incorporate new technology throughout the curriculum. The Library, in collaboration with other University departments, will use digital technology to make information more accessible to the university community.
