摘要

In order to study crystal growth and nucleation kinetics of expensive and/or toxic materials, we have developed methods suitable for hazards environment. A compact apparatus of a specific construction was used for nucleation measurements in accordance with the Nielsen's method. The state of the mixing was characterised at the reactor scale (macromixing) and at molecular scale (micromixing). An original method, using a high seed charge, was developed for the determination of crystal growth kinetics, in a batch crystalliser. This paper describes the results obtained for the uranium (IV) oxalate. The primary nucleation was measured. The crystal growth rate is first order with respect to the supersaturation and follows an Arrhenius relation with an activation energy of E_a = 28 kJ.mol~(-1).
