摘要

A new design of antenna with shaped beam is presented. The antenna radiation pattern is shaped by filling dielectrics in a multiple circumferential slotted coaxial cylinder, and genetic algorithm (GA) is introduced to decide the locations and lengths of the dielectrics. In the optimization process, method of moments (MoM) based on thick line model is selected to acquire far field radiation patterns. Comparisons between the proposed method and the CST simulated results are made for 8-slot coaxial antenna at 900MHz. The results show that the method is viable.
