This paper presents a method of displaying the radiation dose rate information for a work space adjacent to distributed, shielded, volume radiation sources. The method first replaces each volume source with a virtual source that produces the same dose rate field in the adjacent work area. The dose rate from the virtual source(s) is then calculated at one foot (30 cm) from the surfaces and displayed as an intensity coded color scheme applied to the surfaces.
