Sedimentation of soil colloids with metal salts has been industrially used and some special cases like kaolin, has been studied. Though especially small size particles of soil(clay and colloid) are not easily sedimented when they are suspended in water, they are very soon settled down with ions in sea water and sedimented on the corals. Moreover, soils are fairly complex materials, including many kinds of minerals and organic materials such as fertelizers and humus, which affect on the aggregation behavior of soil. In this study, aggregation behavior of soil colloids with and without organic matters has been studied, using metal salts (Al and Fe) and a water soluble polymer (a polyacrylamide copolymer).
