In-situ polymer composites based on blends of liquid crystalline polymers (LCPs) with thermoplastics have received considerable attention in the past decades. However, little informationis available on the compatibilization of LCP to polymer blends. More recently, the authors have studied the blends of semiflexible thermotropic copolyesteramide (ABA30-co-PET) with polyamide, or with polyester, and found that the LCP is partial miscible with PBT or PA66 in the solid state, but is miscible in the molten state due to the unique chemical struture of the LCP.
