Important efforts are made now in order to produce electronic devices directly on flexible substrates, particularly on transparent ones. Flexible displays are the main target application. However, other promising applications, as RFID or intelligent textiles, are rising. Producing electronics on transparent flexible substrate is a real technological challenge. Indeed, such substrates cannot support high temperature. Most of transparent plastics cannot support temperature higher than 120°C. Teonex Q65 heat stabilized PEN (Polyethylene naphthalate) produced by Dupont Teijin Films can reach 180°C. This maximum temperature supported by transparent plastic without too much distort, thus sets the maximum temperature of any electronic process on flexible transparent substrate.
