Characteristics of MTBF under periodic maintenance with randomness in Weibull distribution

The periodic maintenance method is well known as one of the best methods in the preventive maintenance. But, it is very severe condition in the field to keep such preventive maintenance interval strictly. Therefore, periodic interval ofmaintenance might he distributed around the expected maintenance interval with some variance. In this paper, we investigate how effect the preventive maintenance interval with randomness, say PMIR provides MTBF of systems. First we introduce PMIR model,and then the Weibull distribution can he taken as the reliability function. Finally, the usefulness of MTBF under PMIR can he shown by illustrating the computational results.
