In the 1980's air pollution in Poland reached a critically high level, making Poland one of the most polluted countries in Europe. After political changes in 1989, the situation begun to change, but Poland still contributes significantly to global warming. Climate change, resulting from global warming is a very important environmental issue and any way leading to lower emission of greenhouse gases should be a key factor of the environmental policy.
