The effect of particles size distribution on pressure profile in CFB riser was investigated in this paper. Experiments were carried out in a cold test with a square riser of 300 × 400 mm and overall height of 5.2 m. The experimental results shown the pressure profile in the riser was affected by particle size, gas velocity and bed inventory. Interaction between the fine and the coarse particles caused the density ρ{sub}∞ increasing significantly. ρ{sub}∞ was larger than the sum of the two particles densities ρ{sub}i times its fraction.
