Development of Simulation in Japan focused on the New Trend of Transportation Systems

In the early 1990's, a worldwide, new wave appeared in the area of ground transportation. It is named as intellignet transport systems (bridfly called as ITS), in which advanced technologies in sensing, computing, communication and control are introduced in road transportation. It aims at reducing congestion, accident, noise and air pollution, and making road transportation the more comfortable and productive.
